Lakeview Elementary team earns perfect score and first place in Math Kangaroo 2025 competition

Four third graders from Lakeview Elementary have achieved an extraordinary accomplishment. Aadi Sachdeva, Adrian Teodorescu, Landon Conrad and Erin Chen won first place in the Math Kangaroo 2025 Team Competition with a perfect score. Their win is not only the highest in Washington state, it places them at the very top among thousands of teams nationwide. This earns the team the elite Rank 1, a distinction reserved for teams with flawless results.

Their success was the result of a powerful blend of individual strengths coming together at exactly the right moment. Landon brought constant energy and encouragement, helping the team stay focused through the toughest problems. Aadi and Adrian were the team’s rapid‑fire problem solvers, producing quick, accurate solutions when timing mattered most. And Erin, serving as team captain, provided steady leadership, keeping the group coordinated, calm and confident from start to finish.

According to its website, the Math Kangaroo Team Competition is a new pilot program created to bring students together to solve math challenges collaboratively. Teams of 2–4 students work on a set of problems in a fun, supportive environment that highlights teamwork, problem-solving and communication skills.

The collaborative effort this team put in is yet another example of how our students are showing they are future-ready.
