Library

Families will receive an email the night before their student’s library day with a reminder of which books are checked out/overdue. Please note: the system can be glitchy, so occasionally emails won’t make it to your inbox. If you haven’t received one in a while and aren’t sure if your student has books checked out, please contact me.

Lost/Overdue/Damaged Books:  If a book is overdue, your child will still be able to check out up to the maximum number of books allowed for their grade level.   If too many books are already checked out, or they are quite late, they can put a book on hold for two days.  The overdue books will need to be returned within two days to get the books on hold.   

If a book is lost or damaged, please email me. We ask that the book is replaced with a hardback copy, either of the same title or another similar title if possible.

WLA Book Bingo: Students in all grades are invited to participate in the Washington Library Association Book Bingo during the year. The WLA awards the OTTER Award (grades K-5), the Towner Award (grades 2-5), the Sasquatch Award (grades 4-6,) and the Washington Children's Choice Picture Book Award (grades K-3) each year. Students in grades K-3 read the WCCPBA nominees as part of our Library program, but all students are invited to read nominees from the other three awards on their own and complete a Bingo card in the process. We have a Sasquatch Squad celebration for finishers in June, and celebrate the OTTER and Towner enthusiasts, as well. 

Amazing Reading Challenge: Students in Grades 4-5 are invited to participate in the Amazing Reading Challenge. Lakeview is home to the 2024 district champs! More information will be shared at the end of September.
