Work Hard, Be Kind, Be Safe

Dear Lakeview Community,

Today and every day, I am honored to work on behalf of our children and this community to ensure that every student reaches their full potential. Lakeview Elementary has an excellent reputation for strong instructional programs, a highly capable and dedicated staff, and a supportive parent community. I look forward to working in partnership to build on this foundation, to create endless opportunities for every student!

From my early years as a student at Redmond Elementary, Redmond Middle, and Redmond High, I have always known that I wanted to make a difference in the lives of children. I began that journey attending Pacific Lutheran University, earning my Bachelor of Science Degree from University of Puget Sound and working as a pediatric occupational therapist in a variety of settings. I went on to earn a Montessori teaching certificate from University of Puget Sound and opened a Montessori school working as both a teacher and director.

In the Lake Washington School District, I first served students, teachers, and parents as an occupational therapist. I have also been the district’s assistive technology coordinator, finding learning solutions for students and training teachers, students, and parents in the use of technology.

After earning my Master’s in Educational Leadership from Seattle Pacific University and completing my principal internship at Emily Dickinson and Explorer Elementary schools, I served as associate principal at Rosa Parks Elementary and at the district level as Special Services Coordinator working closely with teachers and parents to find great outcomes for students. In the 5 years before joining Lakeview, I served as principal at Carl Sandburg Elementary and Discovery Community Schools.

My husband and I live in Redmond and take full advantage of having our adult sons and family living locally. On the weekend, we usually hit the road. We round up the dachshunds and head to our cabin in Chelan. When I’m not at school, I can be found reading books, digging weeds, or being walked by our dogs.

I look forward to working for you and with you to ensure that every student at Lakeview develops into a highly capable and caring individual, prepared to pursue their dreams.

With joy,
